Mega Evolutions that gain a dual type when they evolve should only be allowed on their Primary types gym team. So for instance, Charizard X is
fire.gif
and
dragon.gif
, and is still a
fire.gif
type even before Mega Evolution, so it would be fair in the Fire gym.

This is probably a stupid question, but I want to know if this is in Pokémon X & Y or Pokémon ΩRαS? Or wait, is it for either?
Gyms should now be running ΩRαS teams in there gym meaning you would need a copy of ΩRαS to battle them, however if you discuss it with the leader they might be willing to do an X & Y battle.

Awesome. I was just making sure. I recently got ΩRαS and have not completed it just yet. I may wait until I have a good team before I challenge any gym. Thanks for the help. :)

Welcome gym leaders!
Some of the gym rules have been updated.

The clause breaking rule has been removed and you are to use 1 uber OR 1 uber item (ban mega stones/soul dew etc)

Gyms with Kyogre and Groudon are allowed to use blue and red orb as they cannot be used in the OU tier anyway.

You can now ban 1 Pokemon that you have extreme difficulty with from their gym, this Pokemon should be posted on the main post of gym threads where challengers can easily see it.

Some of the gym badges have also been updated to new ORAS badges! Enjoy :D

I got a question. I want to challenge the Fairy Gym, but it doesn't seem to be up, and I've seen other people talking about it, too. Do I have to wait for it to come up, or...?
Yes someone has recently claimed the fairy gym and is working on a team. Shouldn't be to long now until their thread is posted.

It really shouldn't be too long, maybes 2 days as a rough estimate. He has some teams, but he isn't happy with them, so he's finalizing them as we speak :3

GYMS are now OPEN
How It Works:
- Each gym leader has his/her own sticky post in this forum. Challenge a gym by replying to the gym leader's thread.
- After a defeat or victory, a gym leader will update a his/her challengers or winners list.
- Victors are awarded their badge 1-3 days after defeating a gym leader
- Your badges show up under your avatar
- If defeated by a gym, you must wait at least 3 days to challenge that leader again for a badge
- Some Pokemon are not allowed in the PokeGym Challenge: Banlist

To Become A Gym Leader:
All Gym leader positions listed here

- You must defeat the current gym leader 2/3 battles using the appropriate monotype team. (E.g: to become the fighting gym leader, you must defeat the current gym leader, two out of three times, using fighting Pokemon.)
- You're not permitted to switch your team between best 2/3 battles for the gym (this goes for the challenger & defending gym leader).
- If you are the only applicant to a leaderless gym, you will be assigned leader.
- Apply Here

While You Are A Gym Leader:
- If challenges exist (for the gym leader position) then the current gym leader has to accept, at least 1 challenge every 7 days (or forfeit his/her position as gym leader)
- If challenges exist for badges, then the current gym leader has to accept at least 1 badge challenge every 3 days. (or forfeit his/her position as gym leader, unless the gym leader explicitly states that he will be unavailable for a certain period of time)
- Gym leaders cannot become champion.
- Gym leaders MUST update their challengers/winners after each battle

Rules *Update*
- Gym leaders are allowed use of 1 uber Pokemon or 1 uber item in their team
- Gym leaders must follow the appropriate Monotype clause ( 6 Pokémon with the same type. Dual typing is allowed, but they must all share a common type)
- Challengers, including challenges to become gym leader, are not allowed the uber perk, and must adhere to our community banlist: here
- Arceus isn't allowed to anyone but the normal gym leader
- Badges will not be awarded without formal challenges. Formal challenges can only be issued in the Gym leader's Gym thread (not home page shoutbox).
- Both Gym leaders and challengers must adhere to the following:
Sleep Clause (you may not put two of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep)
Items Clause (no more that 1 of the same item)
Dupe Clause (no more than 1 of the same Pokemon per team)
Counter Clause (gym leaders are allowed to ban 1 Pokemon from their gym)
- Battles can take place on showdown only if BOTH PARTIES agree to it.
- Gym leaders cannot use showdown as their ONLY means of battling. Meaning you must have a wifi team ready in case a challenger doesn't use showdown
- Battle format One on One 6v6
Um, where do I find out what all the different clauses are and what they mean? Because the names of the clauses gets confusing, and I don't want to do something against the rules.

There should be a thread somewhere on the gym feed that'll give you all the guidelines :3

everything you need to know :p have fun hmu if u got any questions

as for specific clauses if you ever need to double check their explanations are always in official tourneys

Baton Pass Clause (limit 1 user)
Endless Battle Clause (Any move that intentionally causes an Endless Battle is banned)Evasion Clause (You may not use any moves that solely boost the evasion stat)
Item Clause (You may not use more than one of the same item on your team)
Moody Clause (Any Pokemon on your team cannot have the ability Moody)
OHKO Clause (Any Pokemon on your team cannot have any One-Hit KO Moves)
Sleep Clause (You may only set one of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at a time. If you have a Pokemon asleep and you use a self-inflicting move like Rest, this will not disqualify your opponent)
Species Clause (You may not have have more than one of the same Pokemon on your team)

I know this is probably a silly question, but are the gym battles over wifi for the 3ds single battle 6v6?
Yes, gym battles are singles 6v6 OU matches (with the exception of the gym leader being allowed the use of one uber Pokemon or uber item.) :)

Thank you. This will make it a lot easier when it comes to creating a team for the gym challenges ☺
