Due to the lack of votes in the last period of qualification (possibly due to confusion cause of the poll), the qualification period will be extended and the requirements for qualification have been changed. Read this post for details.
The tiering council has decided to do our first suspect test on Mawilite, and we have decided to do it before we release the official PerfectPokemon.com tier lists. We have numerous reasons for suspect testing it, which I have listed below:
The Suspect test will start tonight, 00:00 GMT+1, 21st October 2014, and will run until 23:59 GMT, 3rd November 2014 (timezone change due to daylight savings time). If you obtain the requirements to vote in that time, you will be legible to vote. Anyone on the Suspect Test Council is currently liable to a free vote. The tiering council has decided to do our first suspect test on Mawilite, and we have decided to do it before we release the official PerfectPokemon.com tier lists. We have numerous reasons for suspect testing it, which I have listed below:
- The tiering council was split on whether it deserved to be banned or not.
- It is capable of sweeping through teams with ease, as well as being a potent wallbreaker.
- It has a variety of viable sets which, when all factors considered, gives it zero counters.
- It has two great abilities before mega evolution, as well as the highest attack stat in the game courtesy of Huge Power, giving it an effective base 259 attack stat.
Suspect Test Rules
- All players must play at least 5 matches with a 70%+ win/loss rate (4/5 games gives you 80%). If this is not achieved by the end of these 5 matches, you must continue to play until you achieve the required rate if you are to qualify for voting.
- Battle videos for participating matches MUST be provided. Any without a video included alongside the result will be ignored.
- Opponents must confirm that they are the actual opponent by liking the qualification post. Otherwise the match will not be counted. Furthermore, you may not play the same player multiple times for qualified matches.
- For qualification, you have one post which you edit with all your battle codes for the matches. This must be in the following format:
Code:
#MawiliteSuspect
[IGN used] - [PS alt used]
[spoiler=Matches]
[match result (win/loss)] vs @[opponent's username]: [battle video code/PS replay link]
[match result (win/loss)] vs @[opponent's username]: [battle video code/PS replay link]
[match result (win/loss)] vs @[opponent's username]: [battle video code/PS replay link]
...
[/spoiler]
- All qualifying matches must be on the same PS alt and use the same IGN as the one listed. Any that do not share the information on your post will not be counted.
- You will have two weeks to play all 5 matches. All matches must be played within that time-frame and be confirmed by the opponent that the match was played during the suspect period through (once again by liking the post).
- Edit 10/21/14: you can now qualify for a bye if you state your qualifications. This means things like showdown ladder peaks, your gym win/loss ratio and any other qualifications you may have that show you are good at strategising (e.g. you have won a chess tournament in the last 2 years) and, most importantly, how much experience you have in matches where Mawilite is legal AND matches where it is illegal, so that we know you have a good perspective on its ban-worthyness. These will be moderated by the tiering council to see whether you are worthy of a bye. If you want to know the best way to sign up for the chance to get a bye, this post is a good example of a qualification post.

What is a suspect test?
We have suspect tests to determine whether something that was not banned as part of the original banlist is ban-worthy. This is done externally from the tiering council to get a wider range of opinions on whether the Pokémon is ban-worthy or not.
Why are you thinking of banning this Pokémon if it isn't a legendary?
You may think that anything that isn't legendary isn't broken, but the fact is that some non-legendaries are "broken" or uncompetitive. The not all Pokémon in the game game are balanced, and, as such, bans need to be made. Similarly, not all legendary Pokémon are broken for a variety of reasons, such as being outclassed by other Pokémon (e.g. Shaymin), suffer crippling flaws or weaknesses (e.g. Moltres/Articuno (4x Stealth Rock weakness), Regigigas (Slow Start) and Diancie (Poor defensive typing and subpar HP and Speed stats)), are competitively balanced (e.g. Latios/Latias and Landorus-T) or are just flat out mediocre (e.g. Regirock and Regice).
I want to get involved! How do I?
Its great that you want to get involved! Read through this post to see how you can participate in the suspect test.
I have a question that is not in this FAQ. How do I get it answered?
Feel free to contact me if you have any further queries you may have about the suspect test.
