Introduction

So I found my hard copy of Pokemon HeartGold Version for Nintendo DS on the side of my bed a few days ago and I couldn't seem to remember how long it has been since I've played it. HeartGold is where I got my competitive start, and I remember it as being one of the hardest games to play out of all the main series Pokemon Games, due to the excess amount of grinding required along with my short attention span and laziness. That aside, I thought I might try and do a Nuzlocke of this game to try and rekindle my love of 2nd gen (though it is technically fourth)!

Ok so, here's what's happened so far......

I woke up in my pimped out room with the shad carpet laid out like I'm royalty or some shit and I flipped on the flat screen to check out what was poppin' in the world around me. Then I realized that I was wasting time so I decided to go out on the town.

So I get downstairs, right, and my mom comes to greet me at the bottom of the staircase like I trained her to do. She gives me everything I requested, my bag, my trainer card, my options, etc... I was expecting her to buy me that new iPokegear 6+C, but of course her cheap ass didn't wanna go buy it. That's when she told me that Professor Elm had wanted to see me; said he had some kind of errand for me to run like i was some kind of paperboy. Regardless, I walk out my front door and what happens? A damn Marill just walks up to me and punches me in the nuts. Straight up, I was feeling disrespected. I wanted to know whose Marill just punched me in my sweet spot and this chick Lyra wants to talk to me about how they were playing hide-and-seek. What kind of hide-and-seek match gets me punched in my baby makers? I let it slide this time, but on my life if I ever caught that Marill slipping alone, I was gonna clock it.

After I was disrespected by that damn rat, I walked up into Professor Elm's Lab and I talked to him and tried to see what was going on in that neck of the woods. He told me he wanted to know the effects a Pokemon being outside of its Pokeball had on its bond with its trainer, so he let me choose a Pokemon!

This was it, it was time for me to choose that one Pokemon who would be by my side for the start of this Nuzlocke. In all my Gen 2 playthroughs, I had chosen Cyndaquil, so choosing him just seemed repetitive, boring, and quite mainstream. Totodile just seemed like he was too good for me to want to use, so I went with the last option, the one that would be the hardest to use throughout the whole game as nearly every gym I was going to come across had a type that would resist the STAB of this Pokemon: Chikorita.

I thought about naming Chikorita after one of my friends on the site, but then I decided against it and went with the freshest name on the market: Fabreeze.

So after I named Fabreeze, Professor Elm gets an e-mail from his homie on Route 30, Mr. Pokemon. So, he looks at me and says "Ah, shit, fam, I hate to ask this of you, but you the realest one in this town. You mind going grab that 'discovery' Mr. Pokemon has." I agreed to it because I can't let the homie think I'm weak or nothing.

I head home for a chat with Mom before I set out and I got her admiring my homie Fabreeze who's looking hella fresh. I tell her about my errand and guess what, guys? She comes through with that iPokegear 6+C! I was hella happy, kissed that lady on the cheek and jetted out.

As I went to leave town, Professor Elm came jogging down the road huffing and puffing saying he wanted the digits just in case the five-O showed up and we could know when to shut the operation down, so I entered his number in my phone. He went back to his lab, so I continued on my journey to Cherrygrove City.

The road to Cherrygrove wasn't long, but it was kind of annoying with a Rattata or a Hoothoot coming out of the shade ever few moments or so. Armed with a vicious tackle, Fabreeze blew through them like the ocean wind and we were done.

I arrived in Cherrygrove City, and old guy wants to come up to me telling me I look like a newbie. I smacked him so hard that he had to go to the Pokemon Center real quick to think about what he did and then came back to me saying that he forgot I didn't have Running Shoes, which I knew was bs because he still had tears running down his face. The old guy showed me around the town and stuff and he was pretty chill and we went light up at his house for a few minutes until it was time for me to head out. He stops me and gives me a brand new pair of Jordan's for me to wear on my journey. I was stoked and as I was about to leave the city, he inserted a Map Card into my iPokegear 6+C. I thanked him and continued on.

Route 30 was just plain annoying, there's not much I can say. Only thing interesting that happened was that a guy kept trying to get me to put nuts in his basket. I accepted the basket and moved on.

I got to Mr. Pokemon's house and I caught him doing some stuff with Professor Oak. I didn't say anything, because that's none of my business. I just sat on the couch and drank my tea. Mr. Pokemon walked over and handed me a "Mystery Egg" which I knew was some sort of code for drugs. As I prepared to leave, Professor Oak told me he liked Fabreeze's swag and gave me a Pokedex as a way of trying to get me to keep my mouth shut about what I just witnessed. I gladly accepted and left the house.

As I left the house, my Pokegear just started going ham. It's Professor Elm. I answered , and this man was hyperventilating. He told me that I needed to get to his crib ASAP so, naturally, I thought the five-O were on to me. So, I went ahead and jetted back to his place.

I reached Cherrygrove, and right when I was about to leave, this ugly ass red-headed dude bumps into me. He was talking mad crap about being the best trainer ever and how weak people suck and how I looked weak. I wasn't gonna take this disrespect so I challenged him to a Pokemon battle. He was rocking that Cyndaquil, but Fabreeze didn't care. Two tackles and it was GG. That wasn't all, though. After I handed him his ass on a silver platter, he's still talking. As he goes to walk away, I snatch up that Trainer Card of his so I can learn the name of whoever was disrespecting me so if I caught him slipping again, I would body him. He comes back and sees that I took it and freaks out and bolts. I didn't have time to worry about him, I needed to get back to Prof. Elm.

I reached New Bark Town once again and I went inside and who's standing there?

It was the po-po. I was freaking out on the inside, because I couldn't go to jail, I was too young. You know what would have happened to me in jail? It rhymes with grape. I looked at Prof. Elm wondering why he would set me up like this. The officer turns to me and tries to accuse me of stealing a Pokemon and tried searching my back, which we all know I couldn't let him do with the "Mystery Egg" in there. Luckily, though, my homegirl Lyra pulled through and told that cop what was up. She said that the person who did it had red hair and had been peeping through the window for hours. The cop believes her and lets me go. I told him that I battled a person like that, and the cop asked for his name. I knew what his name was, but I wasn't a snitch, so I just said "Silver," and the cop left.

When it was all over, Prof. Elm and I were hanging out in the Lab and I gave him the goods. He saw my Pokedex and he almost flipped his lid. He told me that Professor Oak only gave out Pokedexes to trainers who have noticeable potential........Elm must not know. He told me that I should consider taking on the Pokemon Gym Challenge and attempt to make it all the way to the Pokemon League in order to become Champion. I was all about it, so I left the Lab to tell my mom.

I sat down at the table while my mom was eating and I told her that I would be going on a journey. She told me that I had this and that no other trainer had anything on me. She was right, but that just sounds weird coming from your mom. After I tell her about me going on my journey, do you know what she has the nerve to ask me? She asks if I wanted to send her money that I got on adventures so that she could "save it." I smacked her and said, "Don't ever ask me something like that again," and Fabreeze and I set out on our journey.....

To be continued........
