This new Pokemon is called Salandit and is a Poison-Fire type Pokemon. It also has a new ability called Corrosion which allows it to poison all Pokemon even including Poison and Steel types which would either be immune to the status effect or the type. I'm assuming this is just an active ability though and does not poison everything on switch-in, but honestly we have very limited information about this Pokemon so far :[

As long as its stats aren't super ass, we can finally stop making bulky steels and (hopefully, like PLEASE) make stall almost irrelevant. Being able to poison Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Heatran and more is huge, and the fact that this thing has a 0.25x resistance to Fairy helps balance the game even further and may even stop Clefable bordering on Ubers material (although that statement is probably more relevant in the Smogon metagame).

It's also going to need a movepool to back it up. Fire/poison is a little weak defensively, so it can't rely on typing alone.

Well if the movesets are good enough then both the VGC and Smogon Meta's are going to be interesting to see at the end of this year
