Outrage

I would like a small discussion about the move Outrage, so I started a thread here. Outrage is a physical dragon type move that has 100% accuracy and 120 base power. If the user chose to attack, it would lock the user into Outrage for the next 2-3 turns, then confuse the user. At first glance, this move is predictable, as it locks the user into Outrage, if he / she chose to attack. It also has a draw back of causing confusion if used consecutively for 2-3 turns. However, 120 base power dragon type move is a force to be reckoned with. It is the 3rd most powerful dragon type move, only weaker than Draco Meteor, and Roar Of Time. It is also among the most powerful physical move in the game. So, if it used on a physical mon, especially on dragon type mon like Rayquaza, it can pack a punch.

Supposedly we have a physical set Mega Rayquaza ( as most Mega Rayquaza would run ), why is Outrage not popular on him on gen 6, and gen 7 ? I searched Smogon, and all I saw was Dragon Ascent, Earthquake, Extreme Speed, with the 4th slot is an option between Dragon Dance, V-Create, Waterfall, Sword Dance, Fire Blast, Surf, Draco Meteor. I understand that Outrage can be countered by Fairy type, but then we could switch into Faries the likes of Steel type, or Poison type to cover. I would like to hear your thoughts on this matter

Why would you need 2 Dragon type moves when you already have Dragon Ascent? It's about coverage, not just having multiple STAB moves. Earthquake 2HKOs Primal Groudon, Draco Meteor allows it to take out Pokemon that would wall such as Giratina and would even do considerable damage to Zygarde-O.

Why would you lock yourself into and be unable to switch out with Outrage? It's not a viable option when playing Ubers considering how prominent Xerneas is. -.-

Dragon Ascent is a flying type move, so yes and no, 2 STAB moves, but different types, and also, u can switch out, so wouldn't that cancel the effect of Outrage ?

I forgot to mention, isnt Draco Meteor is like the hit-and-run ? cause the sp.att debuff, you attack, then switch out. If so, then Outrage could do the same, hit possibly 2 turns, then switch out to avoid confusion. If you could predict your opponent to switch to avoid the 2nd turn of Outrage, you could get a possible free switch as well
