    There's nothing wrong with a banner or small pic, but the larger the pics or animated gifs can cause those with slower internet connections to have issues browsing the site (on top of just being terribly annoying).

    At this point I feel it's more of a legacy thing than anything else. Smogon has pretty much always been the de-facto competitive battling standard so much so that's it's ingrained in most players whether it makes sense or not.

    Ah, the fabled weather wars. I kinda am glad I wasn't a part of that. lol And yeah, I tend to have more fun in doubles than singles so I naturally gravitate toward VGC style, hence the Conk.
