    No idea on the activeness of the fighting leader, but to decline a challenge allows the gym to be forcefully taken away from you. If someone thinks they can beat you for the gym, it's only fair to let them. Besides, you have the uber and they don't, so theoretically, they shouldn't win unless...

    Yeas, they changed on Saturday if I believe. Rock leader can use arceus rock for lack of uber, and fire gym can use primal groudon. Not sure if there are other changes or not...

    I mean, I beat the Fairy Gym leader @syriene just now and I'd like to claim the gym, but I'm going to be away for a few days doing Duke of Edinburgh, so I was wondering if syriene could keep the gym until I return so that there is a functioning fairy gym around?

    Yeah, I can almost assure chu the gym should be open by the end of Saturday MST... I think that's right XD Might have to take work from the leader himself though, just to be sure @Combustiblelimes
