Crafting My 6's Team

Yo,

First, I'm bad at this game, outright. But I still like playing. Making a 6's team for competitive battling and would like discussion and idea slinging and what not. So let's do this.

First: I want Gliscor. Right now it's a psuedo Stall Breaker/Bulky Physical Poke. Set is cheeky but I don't mind making it a full Stall Breaker if that's what the comp needs. Here's My Team, item, and sets as of now.

Infernape is my main Lead/Counter Lead with Fakeout for Sash breaking. Could make him a mixed sweeper as well though if need.

Gengar/Mega Scizor are my Sweepers. I went Expert Belt instead of LO on Gengar due to Sub, which in theory is supposed to be used to dodge TWaves. In practice I'm terrible at determining when to do that XD. Starmie is for Water Coverage + Rapid Spin. Psyshock is for Special Walls that sub in to deal with it.

So far this team does well against the more aggressive teams but Stall teams have been problematic. Haven't really picked up a Pokemon game seriously since Silver so my meta knowledge is rather weak now too.

I'm all for discussion and thanks in advance for the help!

Hey there, you could also run Black Sludge on the Gengar, it works well with Sub because it'll heal back what he lost by using substitute. Another option that would likely work well for Gengar is choice scarf, it'll outspeed everything and since Gengar is so frail you can either open with it and just wreck whatever they open with or just bring it in and sweep at the end.

I don't know much about how Gliscor is usually run because I've never used one before, but if you want it to be a wall I would possibly consider going with some defense investment instead of speed, since Sylveon is your sp def wall, Gliscor would be your def wall. Walls don't usually have speed investment bc they're made to take hits anyways.

Gengar is able to kill a chansey or Blissy since it can't hit him. It is also weak o it is OKHO to Shadow ball or Sucker Punch.

Scizor Is weak and it would get OKHO from a Talonflame Flare Blitz and if the person though of a switch to Starmie, it would died from another hit. I was think of switch him out for Mega-Metagross. So since starmie is water and psychic, you can switch it out with a sweeper that is azumarill. Your team isn't weak to rock, the why have rapid spin. Here's both sets.

So far in three matches it feels a lot cleaner. ^.^
Everything looks fine but on Gliscor, I would put protect on it to heal it if you are stalling.and with the Defense you add added, it would be able to take 3 hit from a talonflames's brave bird. It also 4 time weak to ice and protect would make sure the pokemon didn't have any ice type because it would just kill it. Even with full SP.DEF with HP it is still getting OHOK with ice moves. Hidden Power ice has a 75% chance to OHKO.

Changes are Rotom-W Instead of Azumarill. This helps with a lot of the stall matchups I was struggling with and is a safe option to Pivot with Wil-o-wisp threats. Speed EV investment is to outspeed Bellydrum Azumarill for the burn. Gave him Leftovers and converted Sylveon to a Chesto Rest set.

Gave Infernape Fireblast to deal with Ferrothorn leads.

Might give Gliscor Taunt instead of Toxic but have had mixed results with both sets.

I would suggest fire punch or flamethrower if you really don't want to have the physical on infernape. Only because i'm always cautious about moves that are less than 100% accurate because it seems like things that aren't 100% accurate miss when you need them the most.

Few Problems I noticed was I wasn't able to two hit KO clean without rocks, so swapped Gliscor's set to setter/counter lead.

I was having trouble figuring out when to switch in Infernape with the old set. Banded Ape lets me use him as a lead threat and can also freely use him as an offensive pivot with cleric Sylveon.

Sylveon: Was continuously having trouble finding a good role set for Sylveon. Toxic stall was okay but didn't really do much by itself for the team. So I switched to cleric Sylveon for Wish Passing and stat recovery.

Loving Black Sludge/Sub on Gengar. Being able to dodge Leech seed and T-Wave while still having recovery is really strong with this team.

Rotom-W: Trying to figure out exactly how I want to position him as my defensive pivot and what threats I want him to eat. Current version is to better support Gliscor since they compliment each other very well.

Metagross: Hammer Arm instead of EQ. Testing it out since I'm not really worried about it reaching on fire types and would rather have an answer to other steel based sweepers.

Few thoughts:

Debating on Gliscor or Land-T. They fit similar functions but Lando gets U-Turn. Not sure how much I need it though since I have two very strong pivots already. Gliscor also has natural recovery options where Lando doesn't.

This team feels the strongest yet. I'll give it a little bit of time then start breeding for team wars.
