New Player Looking For Advice

Hi All,

New player to the Pokémon franchise.
I'm looking for advice on which Pokémon I should pick up as an all round start.

I.e.. Battling, breeding etc.

I will be purchasing PC so I can buy these without problem.

I just am looking for advice on which Pokémon would balance out my journey.

What I looked at when I started in the franchise is building up my own team from what I caught, different pokemon have different styles so trying to do a one size fits all setup doesn't always work imo
