Team help please :)

Hey all I picked up Pokemon Y after a long time of not playing Pokemon. I haven't played Pokemon since the original ruby/sapphire on gba so there's a lot of new Pokemon and things to catch up on. My favorite Pokemon has always been Vaporeon and I would like some help building a team with/around her. My friend traded me a Vaporeon to start the team with but I'm having trouble picking its partners.

Vaporeon
Calm
Water absorb

Wish
Protect
Scald
Heal bell

I've never been in the competitive battle scene so I'm not even sure where to start. Thank you all in advance for all your help and advice.
