I liked it, it wasn't the best anime and has it flaws like everything else. It's great to watch with a friend and not take it seriously then the relationships between the characters become hilarious. @Yungfaux and me might make some abridged scenes from it. I wish the ending was... different though

I understand the futuristic things but some of the mechanics were similar to a CN cartoon (the clothes and hair) also if it's futuristic then why the hell are they still using guillotines? French Revolution much. Plus the trap (Peppo) running around was a bit annoying plus he was voice by Mai Nakahara (Japanese) and Carrie Savage (English). I was completely confused with that series, I watched (following anime standards) 5 episodes and still didn't get it. I'd say from my perspective, it's even better when you know the source material. The old-fashioned stuff is an aesthetic, and is there to symbolically resemble the time the original material took place in. In the future the rich will be able to set the aesthetic to whatever time period they want to
But main thing, the original Count of Monte Christo is more straightforward but this anime takes it and bends it around to keep you guessing. It was fun, if weird at moments. Definitely should watch the Live Action film based directly on the book as an addition to the anime
