Questionable Types

I feel like there are a lot of strange decisions regarding types for certain Pokemon. The fact that Noctowl isnt dark type bothers me to no end, ITS AN OWL! OWLS LIKE THE DARK!
What are some type choices that you guys find "interesting"?

Don't know why, Carnivine just annoys me that it isn't Grass/Flying

I know why it happened, but Gyarados not being Water/Dragon still bothers me. It's literally a sea serpant

Ice/Rock. Poor Amaura and Aurorus. I get that being part-Rock is a thing for fossil 'mons, but the two worst defensive types put together equals a cute dinosaur that topples over if you look at it wrong. It's even hard to use against NPCs.
