It is only legal to use if they lose a typing once mega evolving so for example Mega Aggron would be allowed in the rock gym but Mega Ampharos would NOTbe allowed in the Dragon gym This applies to all pokemon with this unique typing situation such as Charizard X being allowed in the flying gym...- Dom

Changes to the Region
Platinum is the third game in a generation as opposed to ORAS which are remakes, LGRF is a better comparison or more recently HGSS In remakes i don't think too many new areas or huge changes would be made to the map whereas new caves and such are usually added in third games- Dom
