Step 1: You and the other person add each other.
Step 2: Both of you must get online.
Step 3: Click on the person who you're going to trade who should be listed under "friends."
Step 4: Click on trade.
Step 5: Follow through with all the saving and waiting.
Step 6: You both offer a pokemon.
Step 7: Both of you confirm the trade.

After that tada, magic transferring happens and you end up with the other persons pokemon.

You add each other on the home menu of the 3DS/2DS, it's the little smiley face in the top middle, there you can add friend codes.

Make sure you are added on each others list and then make sure you give each your IGN(in game name) from there find each other and trade each other.
