Shiny Wo-Chien and the Treasures of Ruin Arrive in Scarlet & Violet Tera Raids​

Starting today, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Trainers worldwide can team up to battle Shiny Wo-Chien in 5-star Tera Raid Battles. But this isn’t just any standard raid event. For the first time ever, The Pokémon Company is launching a community-wide challenge—and the prize? Shiny Wo-Chien, Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu, distributed through Mystery Gift… if players can earn them.

Shiny Wo-Chien Appears in 5-Star Tera Raids​

Event Duration:
Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT
Until Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 4:59 p.m. PDT


Shiny Wo-Chien, one of Paldea’s legendary treasures of ruin, is appearing in 5-star Tera Raid Battles with Grass as its Tera Type. This event kicks off a multi-week celebration of ruinous power, with Shiny Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu following sequentially over the next two months.

A Global Goal with a Catch​

Unlike most Tera Raid events, you won’t be able to catch Wo-Chien after defeating it in battle. Instead, there’s a new twist: players around the world must achieve a combined total of 1,000,000 victories before the event ends.


If the goal is met, everyone will receive Shiny Wo-Chien via Mystery Gift—available from:

Until Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 4:59 p.m. PDT


The same challenge applies to the remaining Shiny Treasures of Ruin. If the community succeeds each time, you can collect all four!

Bonus: Tera Shard Sets​

For every additional 100,000 victories beyond the 1 million goal, Trainers will also receive a Tera Shard Set (40 shards)—up to 10 total sets per Pokémon.

Each raid ends at 4:59 p.m. PDT on its final day. Victory totals and reward eligibility will be announced the following Thursday at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

How to Join a Tera Raid Battle​

1. Complete the Scarlet/Violet main story or join raids hosted by other Trainers.
2. Find a 5-star Raid crystal with a sparkling pillar of light.
3. Download the latest Poké Portal News:
   • X Menu → Mystery Gift → Check Poké Portal News
4. Interact with the crystal to enter the raid!

How to Claim Your Mystery Gift​

If the victory goal is hit, follow these steps to claim your Shiny Pokémon:

1. Open the X Menu in-game.
2. Select Poké Portal.
3. Go to Mystery Gift → Get via Internet.
4. Select the gift and watch it appear in your party or storage.
5. Be sure to save your game afterward.

Raid + Outbreak Combo​

Alongside these battles, players will see themed mass outbreaks featuring Grass-, Ice-, Ground-, and Fire-type Pokémon. It’s a golden opportunity to hunt for Shinies and catch high-value Pokémon to round out your team.
