Muk (Veygar) was not actually participating in the fight. I tend to work with a battling team of five so I have a slot available for an HM user. I was working on clearing the Pokedex, so my low-level unevolved dudes kept getting the extra slot so they could leech off the Exp. Share and evolve. My Grimer had the slot for that round.
