How can we stop scammers from taking our Pokemon?

Nowadays hackers scan qr codes to get Pokemon(it should be fixed by now)
However,will they scam us of our Pokemon?
My friend Jake had been scammed because of a mysterious egg that a scammer had sent him.He was on Game Chat with a person (i dont know who). That guy said it was a Vocalion egg and in exchange he wants his Meloetta.

He traded it for the egg and a few thousand steps later,guess what?
The Pokemon was none other than a Zorua!
Jake was pissed,and he wanted to find the person and ask for it back.

However,Lady Luck wasnt on his side.That person was offline,and everytime he tried to reach that person he/she wasnt online.

That was all I know. Leave a comment below on how to stop scammers!

you just gotta be careful, and you have to know that if what they are trading you is an egg and they say its a legendary its probably not true, especially volcanion

What if it happened? My friend was an example.

If it's a high value trade like that don't trade for an egg because you never know what's inside the egg. If that person is legit and wants your pokemon, they should have no problem with hatching the egg themselves to prove what's inside.

It's a general rule of life though, someone who's legit generally won't have any gripes with proving just that, since firstly it's simple enough for them to prove it, and secondly if they are legit, they'll understand why you're being weary. This is especially true in the case of strangers who are striking some sort of deal with you, if they're offended that you don't just take their word for it, walk away, they'll only do so if they can't prove it, and they're trying to apply pressure and will generally imply that the deal will fall through if you don't act immediately, which should be a red flag.

If you want to be nice to your friend just look through the stores, someone is bound to have a Meloetta on sale here, you'll see some of the posters have a trusted seller badge if you're feeling weary.
