(This is the sister thread to Perfect Mentoring - check that out here)

Whilst we do have a mentoring thread to coach new players, we also want to create a thread where you can send us quick questions about anything to do with competitive battling and we will get back to you as soon as possible! We do realise that meeting to do mentoring over skype, or finding an answer in the shoutbox can sometimes take a while, so the hope with this thread is to cater for quickfire questions such as these:
  • What Pokemon would be good for rounding off my team?
  • What counters [Insert Pokemon Here]?
  • Can you give me some good sets for [Insert Pokemon Here]?
  • Is [Type] super effective against [Insert Pokemon Here]?
  • If they have A in, and I have B out, should I switch to C?
  • What tier is [Pokemon] in?

However, this thread is probably not suited for you if you're looking for an explanation on game mechanics, the tiering system, etc - please check out our Perfect Pokemon Mentoring (link above) thread for that!

Not sure if this applies to this sort of thread but let me know if it doesn't. I am not really in the position to ask to be mentor due to my inactivity to competitive pokemon. I haven't been "competitive" for about a year so I am sort of a noob in the current meta. Just found out M-Mawile was banned lol. But anyways I actually used to be an active member to this site a little over 6 months ago but now I am somewhat back in it (this is a new account). So, what I am originally asking for is a potential "rival" or "competitive" friend that I can rely on to practice with or so? I used to know some people off of smog on but they have been inactive for quite a while. I recommend a highly-skilled player too (preferably).

P.S. Due to a major loss of my competitive pokemon in my game (little brothers ;)) , I don't have much really, so if your a trusted seller, (ie. Krelbit (due to personal experience)) I am your trusted buyer cause I hate breeding, really. Well, and I don't have much to breed with really anymore. But, this is just a little message to those sellers out there. Thanks!

Not really the right place, but it's not like we are overrun with questions anyway XD So to answer you, you could check out the mentoring thread. I know mentoring sounds like it's for new players, but a lot of the better players on the site are mentors and would be more than willing to help you just get back into the meta.

If you are looking for something else, teams are a good way to interact with others on the site. Some teams are really good about getting in some practice games which could help as well. If nothing else seems to be working, Pokeaim is a pretty good source for up to date competitive Pokemon material.

Thanks for the quick response! On my old account I actually used to be in Team Draco, not sure if that is still around really, but thanks again. Is it okay if I copy and paste my comment to the mentoring thread?
