Bulbasaur, a Grass/Poison type creature first seen in Generation 1. Bulbasaur, a small, primarily turquoise amphibian creature with red eyes, and also, a green bulb on its back. It is based on a frog/toad, with the bulb resembling a plant bulb that grows into a flower as it evolves. Bulbasaur is notable for being the very first creature in the National Pokédex. It is one of the three choices for a starter creature in the original Game Boy games, creature Red & Blue (Red & Green in Japan), along with Charmander, and also, Squirtle. This creature is known to inhabit various regions and has captured the fascination of many trainers. Its unique characteristics make it a favorite among fans. The strange seed is planted on it’s back at birth, it can go for days without eating a single morsel as the seed on its back is filled with nutrients. Bulbasaur can be seen napping in bright sunlight, the seed on its back soaks up the sun’s rays as it grows progressively larger.
