Am in Team Nova its a great team but there are requirements you have to meet now if your interested in joining you can see the standards here
Another Team I would recommend is Team Quasar the sister team of Nova I highly recommend it since there are from what I see a lot of events giving back to the members like PKMN giveaways and the teamster is friendly.

Its more of applying either click the "All Teams" link I sent you and go to their team page and hit "Join Team"
or
go to the Home Page of the site scroll down till you see a list of teams click one to visit their page and then hit "Join Team"
