Whats the differnce in Kalos born and genned. Main question is really can both be put in the pokebank and start a new game etc

Also can they both be used online for battles.

They're both basically the seam unless you want to be in Official Real Life VGC tournaments and stuff both can be used for what you asked about

It also used to be the case that to participate in XY official Game Freak competitions you must use KB pokes. Previous generation pokes (aka Genned) were often barred.

This time around Game Freak is allowing genned pokes for this weekend's competition.
